Aims:
To develop a broad understanding of the concepts and principles behind the success of small and medium enterprises. To develop the skills of group work.

Learning Teaching & Assessment Strategy:
Concepts, principles and theories are explored in formal lectures delivered primarily by outside speakers. These are supported by discussions after the lectures by practical exercises developing the skills necessary to produce credible business plans, by directed study and small group research. The external industrial and commercial speakers are used to re enforce the concepts and principles with real life experience. Individual work is combined and enhanced into a group submission of a completed feasibility plan.

Outline Syllabus:
Introduction and overview of the basics of running a business including team-building and group work. Case studies delivered by entrepreneurs. Assessment of personal skills, working effectively in groups. Developing business ideas and understanding business concepts. Planning and developing a successful feasibility plan.
