Aims:
To enable students to plan and devise aspects of performance. To introduce students to practical techniques in performance work and to produce artefacts intended to support a performance. To provide a foundation for Makers and Making 2.

Learning Teaching & Assessment Strategy:
Students are introduced to performance strategies for the devising and development of their own chosen art form through workshop based practical sessions, introductory material is provided in the lectures, assessment preparation in tutorials. Students are required to participate in group work (all group members receive the same mark for group assignments).

Outline Syllabus:
An introduction to processes for the preparation, planning, visualisation, design and production of materials for a tutor/director led visual performance. Introduction to health and safety in making and construction contexts. Introduction to group working and creative collaboration. Introduction to sculpting, modelling, mask making, puppet construction and operation, costume design and making, prop design and making, set installation design and construction.
