Aims:
This module aims to provide space for student-led personal development in the specialism of Web production. The module encourages the development of core web design skills and coheres and consolidates underlying technical skills. The ongoing development of portfolio work, in response to constructive criticism, should be a key output from this module.

Learning Teaching & Assessment Strategy:
Students propose a Web project then research, plan and execute it, using provided personal server space and other available tools, as required. They will receive ongoing direction, feedback and support via a weekly tutorial and `crit` session. The emphasis is very much on `learning through doing`.

A usability testing lab and a presentation preparation session supplement independent project development activity. The determined study of collaboratively resourced learning materials will be the key to student development and success. This personal development and the parallel development of project work will be supported by group feedback, constructive criticism and tutorial discussion.

Students are assessed by way of a project proposal and a presentation/evaluation of the completed online project. Supplementary assessment requires the repair of deficiencies in the original assessment.
