Aims:
To review engineering materials and their key properties, their selection criteria and performance in relevant applications.

Learning Teaching & Assessment Strategy:
Concepts are introduced using formal lectures. Deeper understanding is developed during seminars that include the use of materials selector software. Oral feedback is given during seminars. Learning outcomes are assessed using formal examination.
