Stress analysis: stresses on oblique sections, combined normal and shear stresses, principal stresses and planes, Mohr`s stress circle.
Dynamics: whirling of shafts, free vibrations, effects of damping on vibrating systems.
Viscous losses. Plain thrust bearings, plain bearings
