Aims:
To facilitate International exchange for students on the MEng Civil & Structural Engineering programme undertaking Stage 3 (Level 6) academic study at Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Learning Teaching & Assessment Strategy:
On completion at Stage 3/Bachelor (Honours) Level, students should be able to :-
*Synthesise and apply theories and accepted techniques within and across the engineering disciplines to a range of contemporary, relatively complex and open-ended problems and situations in a critical manner independently and in groups.
*Contribute to research into civil engineering using appropriate data, sources and methodologies.
*Address a range of contemporary issues in relation to design methodology including geotechnical and steel and composites applications, appropriate to civil engineering.
*Critically evaluate professional practices within technical, professional and ethical frameworks.
*Organise and manage projects from inception to completion.
*Address complex, open-ended, problems and case situations in an unpredictable context, taking positive initiatives to solve or identify a range of solutions to civil engineering problems.

Concepts and principles of Civil Engineering subjects are introduced in lectures and applied in tutorials and labs so that skills are developed. Knowledge is assessed by examinations, projects and presentations.

Supplementary assessment will take place in Hong Kong during the August resit period, administrated by the University of Bradford. If students fail to achieve the required passing grades/credits at second attempt they will be required to repeat the failed modules at the University of Bradford.

* Elective modules, choice of any three. The chosen elective modules have to be approved by the Principal Co-ordinator in advance. Students who have studied in Hong Kong are required to undertake the LEvel 7 module ENG4104M Steel and Composite Design (Hong Kong) as a core module in Stage 4.

Progression - The Stage 3 average is calculated based on the grade achieved for each module taken by the student, listed on their transcript of study provided by Hong Kong Polytechnic University, translated into Grade Point.
