Digital Media Working Academy

Above: Digital Media Working Academy Introduction

INNOVATION PROFESSIONALISM CREATIVITY

Bradford University has a national reputation for the quality of the digital media teaching and learning experience that we provide. Our centre is only one of a handful of Universities accredited by the sector body, Skillset as a Media Academy. The work produced on our courses is of an exceptionally high standard and regularly wins prestigious awards from industry representative organisations such as the Royal Television Society ... More

Bradford University is about 'making knowledge work', so we want to harness this talent and make it available for clients that want an excellent digital product or service developing, whilst making their budget go further than they might otherwise have expected. One of the reasons our courses have such a good track record is because of the close relationship we have with industry. We want to work on proper commercial jobs and commissions so that we benchmark the quality of our work against what the sector expects.

Coordinated within the Digital Media Working Academy we assign expert project managers to each job. They are either from within the Faculty staff or from a list of approved industry professionals (often former Bradford University graduates now running their own successful digital companies or working as professional freelancers). We then crew jobs from undergraduates / postgraduates with the relevant professional skills who are then interviewed for the research or production positions.

Maternity Ward Videos and Interactive Website for the NHS Trust Mid Yorkshire. A production team have filmed a series of visual guides to the Maternity Wards services to guide expectant mums through the high quality service they can expect. We have then designed a mirrored web page to look like the main NHS site to house these videos so that users can view them on their computer, iPads or Smart phones.
