To engender discussion around ethical standards and develop collaboratively the concept of `sustainability` (environmental, social and economic), as it relates to a specific field of study (broadcast, games, animation etc).To understand alternative, subversive and ethical frameworks in media and software distribution and give you a chance to produce collaborative content in your chosen media. You will be made aware about key issues in accessibility, inclusivity, intellectual property, media law and health and safety.
The primary support mechanism is a series of weekly small group tutorials, supplemented by five larger lectures, in which the tutors will introduce, monitor and enable the development of group work. There will also be a mini-conference/workshop event over two days which will be integral to delivering syllabus content. This will contain screenings, accompanied by workshops, offered by a range of staff and guest speakers in their specialist areas. The screenings will include interactive, film, games and documentary media that relates to syllabus content.
The MCQ examination will focus on testing knowledge and understanding of compliance and legal issues.
Supplementary assessment is a 4000 word web-framed resource.
